Lots of changes!

This week is a crazy one. The last week of the first summer session that ends in a big, scary showing for my students. I then start rehearsals this weekend for On the Town at DTC in Walnut Creek and the second summer session starts on Monday. Another 60 students! All this while apartment hunting and the beginning of the shape up to ship out. Tony comes over tonight for us to look at places online and to set up appointments. Then we drive back into Oakland on Saturday. I guess I will not be able to go to the Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Fest this weekend.

No rest for the weary.

Actually I have not been too weary. I do have the passion papers to read and laundry to do, but for the most part I am right on schedule. So then why do I fail to get all of my rituals done? Daily neti pot, flossing and the big new one, my daily gratitudes.

Last night I got home late from Into the Woods at Music Circus. Yes, it's a long show, but since it's technically a rehearsal they did stop a few times to go back and fix the sound. The best is that the actor playing Jack could not find the hen prop so he missed his entrance. The SM stopped and called on him and eventually he came out of the curtain with hen in hand. Apparently he had his mic on. I didn't hear it, but my friend Rachel told the world on Facebook that she heard him say, "Where's my friggin' hen?"

Priceless.

The show was decent. I'm sure the sound and light problems will be fixed, let's just hope the actors take the air out of it. The first act felt ungodly long. And then the realization set in that there was a second act. There was no suspense, no flow. I'm going to blame a soft monitor - but many of the actors were (as the American Idol judges say) "pitchy." At least I think they still say that. I didn't watch all last season.

So, I'm behind so here they are:
1. Passionate and (mostly) responsible students
2. The ability to let things go (sometimes not easily, but eventually)
3. Living in a safe area
4. Fresh baked goods - I ate a bagel and part of a macaroon from the Nugget yesterday
5. Purring kitties
